What did Nome do on her b'day?

Went to work. NO one should work on their b'day, but since my b'day is not yet a national holiday; I had to work. However; I did get off work early. My precious baby girl invited me to have a drink with her friend after work so, I thought, "That's cool".

I was the first to arrive at The Platinum Club. I thought The Platinum Club was a strip joint, which I thought might be a little strange. Nonetheless, it was my b'day and I needed an adventure. It is not a strip club. It is however, an all black club on the north side of Birmingham. When I walked into the bar, I was the only "white" person in the bar. The bar is hugh. So I shashawed up the bar and order Crown on the rocks. Of course, I immediately got the respect of the four older (older than me!!!) gentlemen at the bar. Come to find out all four of these gentlemen were wealthy. Imagine that!? I have never heard that line before!!! Before my daughter and her group arrived we (my four gentlemen friends and I) were fast friend. They wanted to play golf today, but I told them I did not play. They made me promise I would leave the bar before 8 pm. They said that was when the bad crowd came into the bar. Of course, I thought we were the bad crowd.

Let me tell you; we were not the bad crowd. As my daughter and I were leaving we saw how the four policeman were patting down the next group after they came through the medal detector. One of my new friend stood up at 7:45 and gave me "it's time to leave sign". I have to tell you, I wonder what went on after we left the bar. On a side note: the DJ wished me a happy b'day and said that I must be old b/c so many people were there with me. Can you believe the nerve of him? I stood up and shot him a bird. How dare he call me old. I should have put my gentlemen friends after him but I was afraid one of them would break a hip.........Life is good.
